Have you thought about integrating the Like technology from Facebook into your website?

Those who have created themselves a Facebook Pages will be keen to get the thumbs up and increase their fan base. The reasoning behind this is simple, Facebook users spend more time on facebook than they do on Google per visit, so with this in mind, it is a given that they will be spending more time on Facebook, and visiting their Facebook more regularly, than they do your website.

If you gain a fan on your page, you gain an invitation to that person's newsfeed. Jump on the updates wagon without relying on a newsletter surviving the perils of the spamfilter, you have another in to those that have expressed interest in your site.

The recipe for this is quite simple:
  1. Create your facebook page
  2. Make a note of the page number (you will find this number similar to ours in the top of your search engine display bar
  3. Install a suitable Like button into your website (your web designer should be able to help you with this)
  4. Why not try it, click on the like button we just installed at Biteinto.net and watch it grow!
A last word, don't confuse the integration of a page like button with a share facility, they are very different animals. The page like button will add your visitor to your fan page, the share facility will post a link of your webpage to your web visitors page for their friends to see in the newsfeed.
